Scarey little ... stopped breathing

drama's on friday night, vin gets in a state if i put him in car seat or buggy without settling him first i normally snap him out of it before he stops breathing but fri afternoon i was driving was about 2/3 mins from my house so didn't stop and he stopped his crying. I thought he'd gone asleep, got home, frankie was asleep in back so i put him in first strolled outside to get vin and his blue, not breathing and limp, i shook him and yanked him out of seat but his breathing still didn't kick in, at this point i have no idea how long he'd been like this for i couldn't remeber when i last heard him , i took him inside still shaking and shouting his name but the instinct to breath still never kicked in so i had to give him 3/4 rescue breaths whilst calling an ambulance , eventually he started to make some respiratory effort but it wasn't normal and he wasn't alert so we went to a & e (its normally me taking people to hospital not the other way round) my god its different being on the receiving end (i work for london ambulance) when your emotionally involved you don't think too clearly. We got him checked out and his ok, spent the night there, can only put it down to the fact his had a cold for 4 weeks and the fact that he's very bunged up with a cough made it difficult for him to breathe, i was more traumatised by the docs pulling him about and trying to find his veins to get fluid running, poor little man had a rough time of it, just thought i'd share this with you, he now has me wrapped around his little finger needless to say .
hope yoi and yours are all good

How frightening but you were amazing, would like to think that i'd be as quick thinking as you. I suppose your job really helped. Well, I bet he's forgotten the drama by now, hope you can too.

Scary!

That is soo scary! I hope all is ok now? Poor wee man!

Calum is the same when he is put in the car seat- he screams then when we start going he is fine and falls asleep. It is a problem when you can't see them in their car seat- I don't like it!

Take care both of you xxxxxxxxx

Oh hun, what a totally terrifying episode. Seriously well done you though for your quick thinking and actions, even if you felt panicked at the time you managed to hold it together on the outside.

Bless little Vinnie, so glad it's over, and look forward to reading all your future posts about what he's allowed to get away with now!! hehe.

Lots of love N & Isla (1 today!) xx

Oh hun

What a terrifying thing to go through. Glad he is ok now. It happened to Ben at 3 weeks but luckily he was aleady at the hospital when it did. It is horrible watching them put needles in etc.
