Dr Chris Steele's Preparing for Pregnancy ChecklistVideo: Dr Chris Steele on preparing for pregnancyBaby Puree RecipesBaby Purée Recipes10 Essential Things To Do Before The Birth10 Essential Things To Do Before The Birth

Thread started by:

4 hours at hospital, 1 nurse, 1 student medic, 2 baby docs & 1 surgeon later

All to be told that the lump on Thomas' thigh is a sterile absess & we're to wait for it to "burst". The surgeon (who was very dishy ) said he didn't really want to give Thomas a local anesthetic & cut his leg as he is young, so see if the antibiotics kick in & wait for it to burst. Got to go back on Monday, popped or not! It's getting bigger (about 2cm at the mo) & redder but he's such a brave little soldier & it's not playing him up (yet).

Will deffo be getting HV to swab the area for jabs next time & putting a plaster on it!!

Hey

Glad you managed to find out what it was, you shouldnt of had to go through all that to find out though, but at least the surgeon being yummy was a bonus lol

Aww bless you both

i really hope it sorts itself out!
either way though, it will be sorted soon and you'll be able to forget it in no time

they are amazing though, aren't they - things that we would play on/ complain about /be miserable with- they just get on with it!

hope you have a good night's sleep tonight!

Hello there!

Not been on for a while so just catching up. Poor Thomas, hope it bursts soon and clears up, I'm sure it will. Always good when there's a bit of totty! When I was heavily pregnant there was a doctor at work called Dr Totty and he actually was totty...brilliant. I used to waddle around after him perving over his bum!

Anyway...enough of that!

Hope you and Thomas are ok apart from that!

Rach (just dawned on me you might not know who i am! Rach, your old spell buying ttc buddy!) and Sam x x x

Aww

Hope the antiobios work and he doesn't need it spliced.

Pmsl at 'dishy doc'. Are you my gran?

Jen x

Aww thx ladies

I think yesterday is catching up on us both, Thomas is having his 2nd very long nap & I can barely keep my eyes open.

I've been reading up & a sterile abscess isn't caused by "outside bacteria", it's caused by the drugs given. I don't fully understand obviously took no notice of the docs last night lol.

Hi Rach, hope all is well.
Lol is "dishy" an old word (watch too much carry on Doc lol)

Caz, Thomas & his big bump (which I am dying to squeeze - is that a woman thing?) xx

Hee hee

you must've had 'dishy man' induced deafness...quite common i think! I too would be dying to squeeze it, i think tis a woman thing x
