my fave is the open mouthed slevery kisses, yes, cuddles in bed, and tiny arms thrown round my neck with 'i love u mummy'. when the 2 of them jump on me and tickle me, when there both in hysterical laughter when i'm doing silly things...the list goes on and on. i love it

"Best bits"
Posted by hopeful9 8 October  at  10:13

More often than not we post on here when there's a problem and we need advice or support. I was just wondering what everyone's favourite bits about having a baby are?

For me it's definitely the smiles. First thing in the morning when I look in the cot I get a huge beam, I've never been a morning person but it makes me glad to be awake. I'm really going to miss the gummy grins when he gets teeth.

..for the 1st timers who will be returning to work. When you go to the nursery to collect them and your little un sees you an drops whatever/whoever and run to you.

Jude used to run so fast he fell and Charlie who couldn't walk at the time done speed crawling. It makes you feel really special. But don't tell clarelouise cos she'll say they were distressed all day and that's why they're excited to see mum he he

What a lovely idea, had a rough couple of days and reading these has really cheered me up.

Olivia's not yet old enough for smiling (except when shes got wind!) but I could still watch her for hours. She's only been here a week and I love being her mummy so much that I cant imagine what life was like before her already.

aw, there are so many things, i could go on forever.

i love the smiles, especially first thing in the morning when he sees me and he gets all excited and waves his arms and legs and i get a huge one toothed grin!

i love how when he is tired he rubs his ear and his eye, one after the other. or how when he is having his bed time bot bot he lays and stares at me and reaches up and touches my face.

i love it if we have been out and he falls asleep in his pram or his car seat and then when he wakes up he looks all confused until he realises i am there and its ok, then he sometimes settles and dozes off again.

i love listening to him talk to himself in his cot either before a nap or when he wakes up, he lays there and sort of sings to himself. its so cute.

i will stop going on now........i told you i could do it forever!

love kelly, oliver 8 months and 15+5 bean

I got all emotional reading all your posts. With me, its the smiles, cuddles, the silly conversations, basically I just love everything about being a mum. I know it gets me mad when they are all bickering, fighting etc but when I see them all playing together or my eldest reading a book to the younger ones, it just makes me SO proud to be their mum. Also their school plays or assembly's (thats what we call them down here when they put on a performance every few months of the work they have been doing over the year). My eyes go all watery and I get a lump in my throat when I see them up on the stage. I know it can sometimes be a bit much what with them all being so close together in age and when they are all playing up etc but I would never call them hardwork and I wouldnt change it for all the money in the world.

Blub, blub

Take care

Sarah

I have to agree that early morning smiles and snuggles in bed together in the morning are my favourites!

i have loads of favourites, when he comes in to bed with us and will only go to sleep with his head on my pillow and his cheek touching mine.

that sleepy cuddly bedtime bottle when he twiddles my hair.

that excited arms waving squeeling happiness when he realises he is going to be fed.

i love it when he is sat on the floor and the dog comes up and puts her head on his knee, so cute.

i coiuld go on & on........

I can't think of just one thing! I also can't remember what life was like before this Little Minx arrived! She's started to smile and laugh now which is beyond gorgeous! She's my little mate and we do everything together. Having a bath together is wonderful, she splashes the water with her legs and whacks her bath ducks! When you kiss her cheeks, she turns her head so you kiss her on the lips!

I knew I'd be a total stalker mum and baby bore and I'm loving it!

I love being able to make him lauch at things what no one else can make him lauch at.
I love going to my OHs parents house and everyone cooing over him and him not paying any attention to them because he is looking at me, it love that even more when i smile at him for looking at me and he gives a massive grin then goes very serious again when he looks at his nanna lol.

Like everyone else i adore the morning smiles i get when i go into his room and he first realises im there.

I also adore watching OH with him and the way they seem to be in some sort of secret club already.

I absolutely love it when i pick him up and he snuggles into my neck as if he is cuddleing me back.

The sound of his laugh also makes me grin no matter what mood im in!

babys breath on my face. Bath time (even for Charlie who's a lot older) giggles in the mirror and when they're crying for someone else and all I have to do is take them away for the crying to stop.

I love the downy hair near bum bum. I love the silky hair on head. I love having eyes on me no matter where I am or who is holding the baby. They are saying, don't leave. I need you

Its a good job I have babies, I'm clearly a very emotionally need woman

Just like the one now in the bouncy chair. A nice clean baby wearing a white baby gro and woolly cardi. I spent a lot more time cuddling when they're dressed like this.

OH always tries to make me wear 'real' clothes on them and I do sometimes but my alltime fave thing to see is this outfit on my babies. Tho Francis' Sex Pistols slippers are slightly ruining the tiny helpless baby effect but they're cute all the same. And it's cold up here

all of what both of you have said but also when hes upset he has mummy cuddles that make it all better lol and i love that i can pick him up and cuddle him give him kisses all over his face and hes not old enough to cpmplain yet, also i blow rasberries in his mouth and he has the most wicked giggle also when his sisters sneak in in the morning thinking we are asleep and get in the bottom of our bed and we have huge family lazy mornings xxx

yes, I love the smiles too, morning smiles are the best .. I also love seeing his little face light up when I take him to clap and rhyme, when we snuggle up in bed together in the mornings and when he touches my face when Im feeding him sometimes - its as if hes saying I love you set myself off now LOL ...

It sounds silly but I cant wait until the time when he holds his arms out to me to be picked up hee hee .. being a mum does have its difficult bits .. but the nice bits are so special, they certainly outweigh them xx

Morning smiles are the best for me too. I also love it when she rubs her eyes (so cute!) and when she smiles her head bobs as she can't seem to do both at the same time!

This is a great post, well thought of. I'm having a crappy couple of days and this is really helping
