| Thread started by: | "Which buggy???" Posted by jeniwarder 13 February at 13:25
Hi, I'm halfway through my first pregnancy and my husband and I have started considering prams and pushchairs. We'd like something that's fairly lightweight and has a carrycot attatchment as well as a car seat/pushchair. The obvious one is a bugaboo but we don't want to spend that amount of money. We've looked at the britax vigour ones, but are also considering the hauck infinity (they also make the mothercare maui but that's very red!) and the icandy apple. Can anyone give us any advice as we seem to be getting more and more confused?!!! Thanks, Jen

well im on my 3rd buggy but its the right one this time!!! my first one was a graco travel system that was about £260 and was so heavy and bulky and i had to get rid of it cos i struggled to get it in and out of the car!!! then got the smaller version at £100 but the wheels kept buckling and it was rubbish. then i bought the quinny buzz and i wish i bought it from the beginning its GREAT!!!! there not cheap but they are worth every penny, its worth a look.

Firstly congratulations, I was in a similar fix 2 years ago, we tested everything. The way it was sold to me is simple, look at how it maintains its value second hand. Buy new keep the boxes and put on ebay when you've finished with it. Plus you'll have the smug factor, as everyone will be green with envy. Don't forget you're buying a cmplete travel system up to the age of 5. Good luck, hope this helps, Les

Hi Jen
I wouldn't want you to make the same expensive mistake we made when we bought our pram/pushchair for our little boy. We bought a Hauck Infinity because we didn't want to spend a huge amount on a Bugaboo but we've ended up buying a Bugaboo too!! The Hauck pushchair attachment is meant to be used from 6 months but by the time my little boy was 6 months old, the harness was too small to do up around him. The build quality is also very shoddy - the chasis was all wobbly after only 3 months use. It also doesn't fold up nearly as neatly as the Bugaboo. I'd say it takes up nearly twice as much space and filled the entire boot of my Golf V. I also don't know how comfortable the seat is as it's very square and has absolutely no padding.
Just MHO, if you don't want to spend loads on a Bugaboo, the iCandy is very solid (I know quite a few people who are very happy with theirs) but it is heavy. The Loola is lovely and has a fantastic carseat. Quinny's new Buzz looks really nice too.
We looked at loads second time around and are thrilled to bits with our Bugaboo. You get what you pay for -don't let anyone tell you otherwise. We had to learn the expensive, frustrating way!

All i can say is i have a 9 month old and bought a quinny zapp and they are fantastic! plus you can get a maxi cosi car seat which clips into the pram bass. It's so handy. If i didn't have that one i would have got a Bebe Confort Loola, my sister has one and swears by it their car seats also clip into the base. Both are fantastic prams!
Good luck choosing the right one
