School holidays

My friend has two kids, aged seven and nine, who have just gone back to school after the Easter holidays. She is finding it harder and harder to stop them from getting bored during the day, especially as they are getting older and her eldest can be quite naughty if he doesn't have anything to do.
I've said I'd have them to stay for a few days over the summer to give her a break and the kids a change of scene, as we live at the other end of the country. I don't have kids myself, but some of my friends here have children of a similar age - would introducing them all be a good idea? We live in Devon, so I've got plenty of ideas for outings, but I thought that meeting other children might be a good idea too...

Any thought/help/advice?
thanks!

Ask the kids?

Maybe ask the kids first? Build up a relationship with them first and gain their trust, they may be a bit nervous of meeting new people and might need reassurance.

New friends

new friends may help - ask your friend first as she'll know better how her kids will react to being presented with new faces, it might be a bit much.
