Step families..... advice needed!

Hiya,

Im 23+1 preg with baby no2 and have a 3 year old from a previous relationship. My daughter no longer sees her dad, she knows who he is and all but i am just wondering how she will react when the new baby starts to call my partner daddy. I know its a long way away but its playing on my mind as i dont know what i will say. she only stopped seeing her dad a few months ago and she always says she doesnt want to see him! she loves my partner to pieces same as him, he loves her like shes his own. I just dont know how to go about the situation. Her dad is a total waste and always trying to cause problems for us whenever he can and she realises this i think thats why she doesnt want to see him!

Thanks for any advice!

hey, well my parents split up when i was 4 and i didnt really understand what was going on, just that dad didnt live at home anymore and mum and dad didnt love each other, but for years i thought there was a possibility of them getting back together, but ive grown up, and now he has remarried and she has been in a relationship for 9years! i love her boyfriend to bits and id rather see him than my own dad. If your child says that she doesnt want to see her dad, respect that ... she probably means it and has her own reasons for that, even though shes young it doesnt mean shes oblivious. im sure she'll be fine about the baby calling your partner daddy, as you said ; she adores him so she probably views him as a father figure but doesnt call him daddy because she knows he's not and doesnt think shes allowed to or something. If she doesnt want to see her father and nor do you then things have probably worked out for the best, if neither of you want to see him then theres no need for him to stick around.
