Karl Lagerfeld to design Dubai fashion island

Fashion legend Karl Lagerferld has signed a deal with Dubai Infinity Holdings to design the world's first fashion island, Isla Moda, part of the new Dubai development called The World.

The Chanel maestro will design 80 luxury interiors on Isla Moda, a paradisal island dedicated to fashion which will be home to a hotel, residential villas and boutiques. Lagerfeld's designs will include a limited-edition range for the island. Every minute detail of Isla Moda will be conceived by other internationally renowned designers (yet to be named).

Isla Moda is set to put Dubai on the fashion map, host shows and draw fashion crowds to the ground-breaking offshore development The World. It's a man-made archipelago of 300 islands off the United Arab Emirates, an island paradise of sand, sea and sky in the shape of a map of the world.
